Commonly Asked Questions

1. What are topical pain medications? How do they work?
Pharmacists use multiple FDA approved ingredients mixed into a highly elegant absorbable cream or gel. The topically prepared formula is applied to the painful area 2-4 times a day. (Directions may vary because our compounds are customized to fit the unique needs of the patient.)

2. Do I need a prescription for this?
Yes. You can easily get started here.

3. How much does it cost?
BioMed topical pain creams and gels are affordable. Your insurance may cover this. If not, our prices start off at $39 for 4oz (one month supply).

4. I’ve had chronic pain for years and take multiple medications, does this replace my medications?
If you have chronic pain we will work with your prescriber to provide you with the most effective topical cream based on your history and pain condition. Depending on your pain and the number of oral tablets you’re currently taking it will most likely take 4-8 weeks to significantly reduce your intake of oral pain meds.

5. How long has this company been around? Are they licensed and certified?
BioMed has been around since 2008. We are a fully licensed pharmacy business by multiple state boards. We are also nationally certified by PCAB (Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board).

6. Why hasn’t my doctor told me about this?
While there are over 2,000 physicians and other medical professionals who have prescribed BioMed’s pain creams to their patients, your prescriber may not have known or heard of us. We are here to answer any questions you or your prescriber may have about how topical pain medications can work for you.

7. Where are these topical creams available?
BioMed topical pain creams are only available at BioMed locations. Your doctor can call/fax/e-prescribe in a prescription to BioMed and we will ship your medication to you.

8. How do I get started?
Print the prescription form and take it to your physician for review. Your physician can fax the prescription to the pharmacist to be processed. We will call you once we receive the prescription.
